Worship Frequently Asked Questions
Are Children Welcome?
Yes! We worship with wiggles and giggles! Children are invited to participate in the worship services and have many opportunities for leadership ranging from acolyting to reading Scripture, to playing instruments and singing in the choir!
Our nursery welcomes children 5 years and under and is staffed by paid professionals certified in CPR and children's first aid.
We also have a special "play area" in our sanctuary entrance for extra active children. This space allows parents to still listen and participate in service next to the sanctuary, or tend to a nursing baby.
What do I wear?
Worship at Walnut Hill UMC is come as you are! Though our worship service is traditional in nature, persons attend in everything from shorts to suits. We've even been known to have "dress up" Sundays in your favorite Star Wars or superhero costume!
As long as you come with a heart searching for a relationship with God, it doesn't matter what you wear on the outside!
You can expect a variety of age ranges of people from 20's to 90's, all eager to serve and share in God's love with each other. Services last one hour and include music, children's time, congregational singing, prayers and sermon.
Where do I park?
We have three entrances to worship services. Our main west entrance faces Marsh lane and is accessible from our front north parking lot, which has plenty of spaces reserved for guests. This north lot also features a covered drop off area, helpful for inclement weather conditions.
Our nursery is best accessed from our Betty Jane Lane entrance, on the east side. This also offers a ramp for those with mobility challenges and strollers.
Welcome stations for information and guest greeters are in our north lot atrium, as well as in our east entrances. These friendly folks can help you find wherever you need to go.
