Sunday School

All meet in the Youth Lounge (rooms 6 & 7) downstairs in the Youth Center.  During the school year, the Sr. High meets in room 5 and the Middle School in room 4 to discuss life issues in relation to Scripture.

Check out about the Prayer Door.

More Youth time at MYF!!!

Sunday evenings is Methodist Youth Fellowship.  The Middle School meets from 5:00-7:00pm and the Sr. High from 6:00-8:00pm.  Evenings include games, dinner, singing, talk and discussion, worship, small group fellowship, and joys &
concerns.  Summertime also brings new adventures!

Junior High Mission Trip

Youth going into seventh and eighth grades serve those in need locally and regionally.  Previous trips have included painting at a inner-city mission in Galveston, leading a children’s Vacation Bible School program on a Navajo Reservation in Shiprock, NM, and painting and repairing homes in both San Marcos, TX, Friendswood, TX, as well as our local city of Dallas.

Ski Trip

Every other year, our group ventures out in the snowy winter (which means out of Texas) for a time of fellowship and focused devotion.  No one can help but find God & see God’s awesome work while skiing down magnificent mountains.

Sweet Potato Round-Up

This annual food donation service project is sponsored by the Gleaning Network of Texas. Youth glean yams left behind in the field by farmers in order to help provide food for those without.

Lock-Ins

Spend non-daylight hours with fellow youth doing large group activities, games, team building exercises, watching movies, and having devotional time.

Senior High Mission Trip

Youth going into ninth grade through recently graduated seniors serve those in both rural and urban settings annually on a state, regional, and international basis.  Previous trips have included packaging relief kits at the Sager Brown UMCOR Depot in Baldwin, Louisiana, leading a children’s Vacation Bible School program on a Navajo Reservation in Shiprock, NM, and building housing in Juarez, Mexico, as well as repairing homes damaged by hurricane Ike in the Houston area.

MLK Exchange

Nothing like fellowship and service to begin the year right!  This event combines our youth group with other local United Methodist youth to play, learn, and serve while remembering the great contribution of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
