Sunday School
All meet in the Youth Lounge (rooms 6 & 7) downstairs in the Youth Center. During the school year, the Sr. High meets in room 5 and the Middle School in room 4 to discuss life issues in relation to Scripture.
MYF
Sunday evenings is Methodist Youth Fellowship. The Middle School and the Sr. High meet from 5:00-7:00 pm. Evenings include games, dinner, singing, talk and discussion, worship, small group fellowship, and joys & concerns. Summertime also brings new adventures!
Mission Trips
The Youth went on a mission trip to Washington, D.C. this past summer. Throughout the week, the youth immersed themselves into the different mission sites around D.C. They spent time serving others at sites like Food & Friends, D.C. Central Kitchen and S.O.M.E. (So Others Might Eat). They also spent time with children at sites like Growth Spurts. Also, the youth broke up into two groups and engaged in an “Urban Plunge,” which allowed them to go out and meet new people and try and better comprehend the overwhelming severity of poverty. All of these experiences gave each youth something quite special, spiritual growth. They opened themselves up and God worked flowingly through the hard work they took on so willingly.
Ski Trips
Every other year, our group ventures out in the snowy winter (which means out of Texas) for a time of fellowship and focused devotion. No one can help but find God & see God’s awesome work while skiing down magnificent mountains.
Lock-ins
Spend non-daylight hours with fellow youth doing large group activities, games, team building exercises, watching movies, and having devotional time.
MLK Exchange
Nothing like fellowship and service to begin the year right! This event combines our youth group with other local United Methodist youth to play, learn, and serve while remembering the great contribution of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
