We are thrilled to invite you to Lovers Lane UMC for the Rededication Concert of our two majestic Sanctuary pipe organs on Sunday, October 17 at 3:00 p.m. (CDT), followed by a reception with the performing artists. The concert commemorates the completion of a two-year renovation and refinishing project by Richard Houghten, Inc., which fully restored the consoles and upgraded the electronics systems of both the 1957 Aeolian-Skinner Opus 1361 and the 1978 Schantz Opus 1454.
This exciting and varied celebration concert will feature Dr. Sheryl Sebo, organ, with featured guest artists, Christine Bouton, organ, Jeanie Lee Chuang, piano, and Imperial Brass, conducted by Jimmy Emery, Director of Music Ministry. The program includes joyous hymn settings for brass and organ with congregational singing and an eclectic showcase of scintillating solo organ music by J. S. Bach, G. F. Handel, Jean Roger-Ducasse, Jean Langlais, Florence B. Price, and the mighty grand finale from "Organ" Symphony No. 3 by Camille Saint-Saëns, arranged for brass and organ.
Please help us spread the word of this historic rededication by sharing this invitation with friends, musical colleagues, and on your favorite social media platforms. The concert will be performed in person with a live audience (all are welcome!) and also live-streamed at llumc.org/live, and on the church's Facebook page and YouTube channel. Admission is free. Lovers Lane UMC is located at 9200 Inwood Road in Dallas, Texas (near Northwest Highway and the North Dallas Tollway). We look forward to celebrating this exciting occasion with you!
