United Methodist Women
“United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church”. Missions target women, children and youth around the world as a focus of service. At Walnut Hill, we seek to carry out this mission through regular participation in small group experiences and/or quarterly meetings of the larger body of women. Activities target spiritual growth, mission education and participation, and fellowship! Groups may vary in duration as some are ongoing and some are short-term / time-specific groups. UMW Groups include: Bible Study, ongoing mission studies, selected mission activities, special interest groups and book club.

The club is welcome to all women! You don't have to be a member or regular attendee of our church to join this discussion. We meet online the 2nd Friday each month to discuss a book of the month.
All are Welcome! The focus of this Book Club will be to read, share and discuss books every month that address issues of racism. We have chosen books that will help us (and in the words of Ms. Andris Salter, the Operations Officer for the UMW Reading Program) to better understand and participate in God’s mission today, to increase sensitivity to all human beings, to explore contemporary issues, and to enhance and act on self-knowledge. In particular, the Reading Program committee has worked to select books that will raise the consciousness of our social, economic, and political realities, including the interconnectedness of race, class, and gender in women’s lives.
When: The second Friday of the month from 1PM – 2PM. The first session is

Strong in Faith. Strong in Purpose.
We had an incredible time at the 2019 Women's Retreat. Over the course of the weekend, we studied the stories of 8 women of the Bible: women from Bathesheba to Anna and everyone in between! We learned what it means to be strong women - to be bold, persistent, and to leave a legacy! We hope that you will consider joining us for our next women's retreat, time and location TBA!
